Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Ampys Apps ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Car Club Connect mobile app and related websites (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of data, all linked to your account identity:

  • Contact info: your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number, provided at signup or on your profile.
  • User content: messages, photos, voice notes, event descriptions, flyers, and other content you create in the app.
  • Purchase history: records of dues payments and event ticket purchases made through the Service.
  • Precise location: with your permission, we access your device's location to sort nearby events, set your home location, and power Cruise Mode. When you explicitly join an active cruise, the app collects and shares your live location with members of your chapter, including while the app is closed or not in use. Cruise sharing ends when you stop it, the ride ends, or after one hour. Recent positions are stored only as needed to display the live map and are not used to build a persistent location history.
  • Identifiers: a user ID assigned by our authentication provider, and a device push-notification token used to send you alerts.
  • Security data: for public ticket checkout, we temporarily store a one-way pseudonymous request fingerprint to prevent automated inventory holds and payment abuse. It expires after 24 hours.
  • Website analytics: we use privacy-focused, cookieless first-party measurement for aggregate page views and interactions with event, shopping, and app-install links. If you separately choose to allow optional Google Analytics, that service also receives page paths and those interactions. We do not send message content, payment details, or precise location to either analytics provider.

2. How we use your information

We use collected data exclusively to operate the Service:

  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • Show you your chapter's members, events, chat channels, and roster.
  • Send you push notifications for events, chat messages, dues reminders, and other in-app activity.
  • Process dues payments and ticket sales via Stripe.
  • Show participating chapter members on a live Cruise Mode map when they choose to share.
  • Diagnose bugs and maintain service reliability.
  • Measure aggregate use of public pages and install links, with optional Google Analytics only when you consent.

We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not sell your personal data.

3. How we share information

Other members of your chapter and connected chapters see certain profile data by design of the Service: your name, avatar, role, and public activity (events RSVPed, messages posted). We share data with the following sub-processors solely to operate the Service:

  • Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Stripe: payment processing. Stripe holds card data. We do not.
  • Apple Push Notification Service and Firebase Cloud Messaging: push message delivery.
  • Resend: transactional email (invitations, receipts).
  • Google Maps / Google Places: address autocomplete and map rendering.
  • Google Analytics: optional website measurement that loads only after you choose to allow analytics.
  • Vercel Web Analytics: privacy-focused, cookieless first-party measurement of aggregate website traffic and selected public-site actions.

We do not share your data with data brokers or advertisers. Live Cruise Mode location is visible only to authenticated members of the same chapter who can access that active ride.

4. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the mobile app, or request deletion from our account deletion page. Deletion removes your profile, chat messages, and other user content. Some records (payment history, invoices) may be retained as required by law or by our payment processor.

5. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below. California residents have rights under the CCPA, and users in the EU/UK have rights under GDPR.

6. Children

The Service is intended only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Website Analytics Choices

Privacy-focused Vercel Web Analytics measures aggregate website use without cookies. Optional Google Analytics remains off until you choose to allow it. Your Google Analytics choice is stored in your browser so we can remember it. You can clear your browser storage to reset that choice. Affiliate and event-source links may take you to third-party websites with their own privacy practices.
